About the event
The oil and gas industry is fraught with challenges, especially regarding the transparency of transactions in Texas. Producers often struggle to ensure they’re getting the best prices for their oil due to the complexities of gathering relevant data. Barrel Hub’s software, is designed to transform these challenges by leveraging public legislative mandates, promising a more transparent transaction environment, and ensuring that producers receive the best prices.
Barrel Hub is the first-of-its-kind software built specifically for Texas oil and gas producers. With Barrel Hub you can see and compare the actual data for every lease in Texas. Users have access to the gravity, the volume, and the real prices paid every month, on every lease in Texas. And to make that data useful Barrel Hub also gives users the name of both the purchaser and the producer for each lease. Each county is automatically sorted by price from the highest to lowest price paid, making it easy for producers to see where they rank versus their peers.
John Fox is the VP of Sales and Customer Engagement at Barrel Hub. He is also owner of DTX Solutions, a startup consulting firm focusing on disruptive technologies in a variety of different markets. John graduated from Millsaps College in 2005 with a B.A. in Political Science. From 2006-2007 John played professional baseball before returning to Millsaps College to finish his MBA.
John started his career in Private Equity with GreenGate Partners where they purchased timber tracts from institutional partners and converted the purchased acreage to its highest and best use. From GreenGate, John went on to a career in medical device sales where he helped grow underperforming territories for products in the Orthopedic, Pharmaceutical and Biotech industry. During that time he developed an appetite for launching new and disruptive technology products. John joined Barrel Hub to help introduce price data in a new and totally transparent platform to the Oil and Gas industry in Texas. John has long family relationships in the Oil and Gas world and believes Barrel Hub is on the forefront of driving efficiency and transparency to pricing for producers and purchasers.
Taylor Wright is the Chief Technology Officer of Barrel Hub. Taylor graduated from Texas Tech University with a B.S. in Pre-Medicine in 2018 and then learned to program at the prodding of a friend. His career has been spent building data pipelines for machine learning models that help companies make decisions. Taylor was engaged by Luther Ott, founder and CEO, to build Barrel Hub and is responsible for its maintenance, development, and expansion.
